KD-X
A 3D-printed companion robot that reads facial expression, tone of voice, and speech to respond the way a loyal friend would.
Founder · Squirrel Works
Founder of Korns Industries. Builds self-hosted AI assistants, robots, IoT sensors, and the apps that tie them together.
Troy started Korns Industries to give independent makers the tools, space, and compute they need to build their own work and keep ownership of it.
Most of his work happens in Squirrel Works, the company’s R&D division, where the focus is technology that runs on hardware you own: AI assistants that never send your data to the cloud, a private network and file system to connect them, and robots and sensors that respond to the people around them. The same projects feed the rest of the company: the print shop runs through MOBIUS, and Studio 212 builds websites and apps like this one.
He’s interested in hearing about projects in home and small-business automation, self-hosted AI, robotics, and custom 3D-printed parts.

Artificial Learning Isolated Companion Entity. A private voice and text assistant that runs on local AI models instead of the cloud, with routines, tools, and phone notifications.
An Android Auto dashboard that brings ALICE into the car, with voice control, navigation, and a windshield heads-up display.
Korns Industries Network. An encrypted private network that lets every authorized device, from the shop to a laptop across town, work as if it were on the same desk.
An operations supervisor for small businesses and the household. It tracks inventory, 3D-print jobs, and pricing, with a person signing off on every purchase.
Storage Interface for Localized Organization. A self-hosted file system and knowledge base with a web file manager and network drive, searchable by people and AI.
Device-free presence detection from changes in LoRa signal strength between ESP32 nodes, with a live heatmap visualizer. Built for an IoT and cybersecurity systems course.
A Studio 212 Android app for tracking your reading on a virtual bookcase, with barcode scanning and reading rewards.
